To mark<\/span> 25 years of<\/span> skydiving,<\/span> we introduce today<\/span> our<\/span> tandem<\/span><\/a>,<\/span> AFF<\/a> and<\/span> winguist<\/span> instructor<\/span><\/a>, Stephane<\/span> Zunino<\/span>, a living legend of<\/span> skydiving.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Can you tell us more about our skydiving career?<\/strong><\/p>\n

I started skydiving on June 15, 1990 at Le Luc<\/a>. I started<\/span> skydiving<\/span> to try skyfurf<\/strong>,<\/span> the<\/span> flagship<\/span> discipline<\/span> in the 90s.<\/span> At that time,<\/span> we were only a<\/span> handful of<\/span> skydivers<\/span> <\/strong>forming a real community.<\/span> Meanwhile<\/span> I developed<\/span> my love for<\/span> formation skydiving<\/span><\/strong> and<\/span> have<\/span> rapidly integrated<\/span> the 8 French team<\/span>.<\/span> I spent<\/span> 7 years<\/span> as a team member and<\/span> have<\/span> won<\/span> multiple titles (<\/span>European Championship, third<\/span> at the World Championship<\/span> …<\/span> )<\/span>.
\nIn the mid<\/span> 90s, with<\/span> a few<\/span> fellows<\/span>, we started to<\/span> make<\/span> the first prototypes of<\/span> wingsuit<\/span><\/strong>. Thus<\/span> was born<\/span> S-Fly<\/a>, the only French wingsuit manufacturer<\/span>.
\nIn the early<\/span> 2000s<\/span>, I was at the origin of<\/span> the<\/span> Soul Flyers<\/a><\/span>, demo team<\/span> for<\/span> Salomon<\/span>. We have<\/span> traveled the<\/span> world to do<\/span> demo<\/span> jumps and<\/span> make images<\/span> for the brand.<\/span> Today<\/span> the<\/span> team<\/span> continues to exist<\/span> with Fred<\/strong><\/span> Fugen<\/span><\/strong> and Vince<\/strong><\/span> Reffet<\/span><\/strong> perpetuating the tradition<\/span>.
\nToday I carry on with wingsuit and the various disciplines of skydiving.
\n<\/span><\/p>\n

How many jumps do you have?<\/strong>
\nI have more than 15,000 jumps.<\/p>\n

How did you start to develop wingsuits?<\/strong>
\nInitially<\/span> I was already doing<\/span> the sewing<\/span> and repair<\/span>. Lo\u00efc<\/span> Jean Albert<\/span><\/a> began to<\/span> think about the<\/span> wingsuit<\/span> and after exchanging<\/span> tips and ideas<\/span> I finally<\/span> started to produce wingsuit .<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Today <\/span>where<\/span> are you<\/span> in development<\/span> of<\/span> wingsuit?<\/span><\/strong>
\nThe equipment<\/span> has evolved tremendously<\/span>. Today we<\/span> have a complete line<\/a><\/span> that we have<\/span> fully developed<\/span> and which<\/span> is the result of<\/span> our<\/span> years of work and<\/span> R<\/span> & D<\/span>. These range<\/span> from beginner to<\/span> elite.<\/span> We also develop<\/span> harness<\/span> to practice<\/span> base jump<\/span> so that we can<\/span> refine<\/span> aerodynamics<\/span> for<\/span> even higher performances<\/span>.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

What were the<\/span> changes in<\/span> wingsuit<\/span> practice in the recent years?
\n<\/span><\/span><\/strong>At the beginning,\u00a0<\/span>wingsuit<\/span> was<\/span> a new discipline<\/span> that allowed<\/span> to fly <\/span>further and<\/span> longer.<\/span> Today<\/span> the practice<\/span> has totally evolved <\/span>and combines<\/span> artistic figures<\/span><\/strong>, angle flying<\/strong>, formation flying<\/span><\/strong>, time and<\/span> distance<\/span> competitions<\/span><\/strong> from <\/span> airplane<\/span> and cliff.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

What are your<\/span> tips<\/span> to start<\/span> winguist<\/span>?<\/span><\/span><\/strong>
\nTo have<\/span> a good experience<\/span> jumping from planes<\/span>.<\/span> You must have a<\/span> minimum of 150<\/span> jumps<\/span> before you can<\/span> begin wingsuit.<\/span> You need to <\/span>be careful<\/span> to use<\/span> the proper equipment<\/span> to jump<\/span> safely<\/span> and get trained<\/span> by qualified instructors<\/span>.
\nI organize<\/span> courses<\/span> throughout<\/span> the<\/span> year to train<\/span> students and<\/span> instructors.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
